Birthstones have been around for thousands of years and many believe that these stones can give insight to the wearer's personality. Each month is assigned a stone that has designated traits and characteristics. Let’s take a deeper look at what your birth stone says about you, and how Komara can help you connect with your birthstone's aura.

January

If you were born in January, your birthstone is Garnet. This stone is most commonly found in its deep red form, but also is known to be a variety of other colors as well. Garnet signifies love, passion, protection and commitment. Some ancient tales also say that Garnet is good to wear during travels, as it keeps the traveller safe.

February

The birthstone for February is Amethyst. This mesmerizing stone is known for its purple hue. This stone represents balance, peace and clarity. Greek mythology states that this beautiful stone was able to prevent drunkenness, making it the perfect stone for tranquility.

March

Aquamarine, known as a seawater protector, was thought to keep sailors safe in ancient times. This stone is said to bring harmony, happiness and clarity into your life. Just like the waters it protected, Aquamarine is a cool blue tone and can help improve communication and courage.

April

One of the strongest stones known to man, the April birthstone is Diamond. Most commonly used for engagement rings, this stone is said to provide the wearer with abundance, relationship and self strength. Reflecting the stones physicality, providing strength and durability.

May

The stone of May is the Emerald. If this is your birthstone, you have charm and elegance with an appreciation for beauty. Known for its vibrant green hue, this stone is known for renewal, wisdom and hope.

June

Lucky number three, June has three traditional birthstones! All associated with various meanings. June babies, choose your poison.

Pearl, the most common birthstone for this month, is recognized for its purity and wisdom. Alexandrite, the stone with color changing magic, known for balance and renewal. Lastly, Moonstone is the most feminine stone of the June stones, which is known to channel the moon's energy. Moonstone has strong ties to intuition, inner growth and good fortune.

July

July born individuals are just as fiery and bold as their birthstone — the Ruby. This stone is vibrant red in hue and symbolizes boldness, confidence and passion. Rubies were known throughout history to provide protection from misfortune and harm, making this stone a powerful symbol of strength.

August

The August birthstone is a beautiful green stone known for luck, positivity and light. Believed to carry healing and prosperity to the wearer, Peridot has been cherished for its uplifting energy. Peridot was known to the ancient Egyptians to carry the life-giving energies of the sun!

September

September’s birthstone is Sapphire, a deep blue beauty. With properties relating to sincerity, truth and faithfulness the souls born within September are trustworthy, intelligent and calm. This stone has also been believed to have healing properties helping with migraines, headaches and more!

November

November babies, you have two beautiful stones to choose from! Topaz comes in a rainbow of colors, like the infamous blue topaz, or its original form of yellow and orange. Citrine is also known for its yellow and orange hues. Both of these stones are known for their calming energies, bringing warmth to the wearer. No matter which stone you gravitate towards, their qualities of strength, clarity and prosperity won’t go unnoticed.
